Is there a deposit when booking my reservation?
Yes. A 50% deposit is required upon booking, while the other 50% is paid upon arrival at The Beatrice Hunter's Retreat. Deposits are NON-REFUNDABLE, but if you must cancel your reservation we will work with you to apply your deposit to a different date in the future if need be.Can I book a Father/Son package?
Yes. We have special deals for two-for-one tandems, provided only one of you will hunt while the other spectates. Please contact us for further details.Is there an extra cost to bring someone who isn’t hunting?
Yes. Non-hunters such as spouses or significant others who want to come and enjoy the amenities The Beatrice Hunter's Retreat has to offer cost $100 per person per day. They will receive all the amenities the hunters get, without hunting.

You may hunt hog during deer season with the exception of night hunting.Is there a limit on how many deer we are allowed to hunt?
Yes. We allow one buck and one doe per booking. You are also allowed by state law to only take home 3 bucks per season. So, for instance, if you booked multiple trips with The Beatrice Hunter's Retreat and harvested one buck and one doe your first trip (our limit), and then one buck and one doe your next trip, and on your third trip you harvested one buck and one doe, you would no longer be allowed to harvest bucks for the remainder of the season. There are no season limits for doe.What type of deer are we allowed to hunt?
Hunters are allowed to hunt 8 points or better on bucks at The Beatrice Hunter's Retreat. We practice quality deer management, which means we allow the younger ones to grow so that they will breed more and grow larger, which is why we only allow 6 points or better on any bucks killed during a hunting trip.When is the best time of season to hunt deer at The Beatrice Hunter’s Retreat?
The best time of season to book for deer hunting is roughly near the end of January through February 10th.How large are the deer at The Beatrice Hunter’s Retreat?
Mature Bucks range from 180-220 lbs. Mature Does range from 80-120 lbs.What are the hunting accommodations like?
We have box blinds, ladder stands, and tripods available for the hunters, but guests are free to bring their own equipment if they prefer.Is there a service to process the deer meat?
Yes and No. There is a meat processing facility within 10 miles of The Beatrice Hunter's Retreat. We will assist you in getting the deer to the facility, but guests must pay for the cost of processing as it is a separate and unrelated entity.Should I bring anything else besides my hunting weapons?
We offer complimentary fishing at The Beatrice Hunter's Retreat, so bring your poles and tackle. Skeet shooting is available for an additional price and takes place off-site only a few minutes away from the property. There is also another lake next to the skeet shooting location for additional fishing options. All guests are suggested to bring their own shotguns and ammo for skeet shooting, though we can provide one if necessary. Please call ahead for more details.
Lodging Questions
How many guests can be accommodated?
The Beatrice Hunter's Retreat can accommodate up to 8 guests. Our larger lodge can host up to 6 hunters and 8 total guests. And parties of 5 or fewer will be placed in our smaller 4 bedroom/2 bathroom lodge. We also have a smaller 1,000 sq.ft. apartment available for special instances.Is food provided?
